Intrinsically Motivated

“I became a marine biologist because of a field trip to the Mote Marine Laboratory we went on during my time at Montessori. The goal to get my PhD in marine sciences was intrinsically motivated.”

Academically Prepared

“I believe much of my success in college and high school was due to my ability to manage my time. The skills MSP taught me in academic writing have still helped me to be ahead of my peers even as a college student. I remember when attending high school many students did not know how to talk to adults but I had so much practice from MSP that I would never become nervous talking to my teachers or administrators.”

Creative Thinkers

“MSP taught me to approach problems creatively in school and in the professional world. I learned to approach challenges with an open mind and a willingness to learn and/or grow.”

Globally Aware

“I believe my education on diverse cultures and beliefs shaped me into who I am today and taught me to love ALL people."

Independent, CONFIDENT, & Respectful

“In 2023, during my final year of high school, Escambia County School District began banning books, specifically ones that had characters who were LGBTQ and of different Minority groups. I spoke at two school board meetings trying to prevent the bannings. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. I think MSP fostered the confidence that lead me stand up for what I believed was right while remaining respectful to individuals with completely opposite views as me.”

Service-Minded Citizens

“I am currently serving as Director of Main Event for Auburn University Dance Marathon, which raises money for a local children's hospital. AUDM is Auburn's largest philanthropic organization.”
